What exactly is High Speed Wireless Internet?
With High Speed Wireless Internet, your internet connection travels over 2-way radio instead of your telephone line. You don't need that extra phone line you've been paying for (or planning to install).
I don't need to tie up the phone line anymore?
No! You can use your phone while you're on the Internet. Your phone and the wires connecting it have nothing to do with High Speed Wireless Internet.
Is High Speed Wireless Internet faster than Dialup?
High Speed Wireless Internet can connect at speeds ranging from 128Kbps -1.5 Mbps depending on your location and the level of service you have ordered. (This is 2.5 - 30 times faster than your best 50Kbps connection and 4 - 50 times faster than a more common 30Kbps connection most people are able to achieve.)
Do I need to "connect" each time I use High Speed Wireless Internet?
With High Speed Wireless Internet, you are connected to the Internet when you turn on your computer. To use it, you just start your browser software and begin surfing!
Does this work anywhere?
High Speed Wireless Internet works within "line-of-sight" of our antennas. If you are within 6-8 miles of Hay Springs, Rushville, Chadron, or are located on the Mirage Flats, it will probably work for you. We won't know for sure until we do your site survey, which is required before installation.
When are you going to cover (my area)?
Let us know if you are interested, even if you are outside our current coverage area. When we begin to get enough interest in your area, we will install the necessary equipment to make High Speed Wireless Internet work for you!
Do I need additional hardware to use High Speed Wireless Internet?
Yes. We will rent you the required antenna, cable and computer adapter card as part of the package or you can buy the equipment to reduce your monthly cost.
How much does this cost?
Installation is $100. The monthly fee for most installations will be $50 for Personal Access, including equipment rental. If you choose to purchase your equipment for about $500, your monthly cost will be $34. If your installation is unusual in some way or you want to connect more than one computer to the Internet, your hardware costs will probably increase. Business connections will be priced according to your requirements.
